CAMI can offer advice on complex image analysis requirements for applications such as Morphometry, Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), Spectroscopy, Relaxometry, pharmacokinetic modelling analysis of Dynamic Contrast Enhanced (DCE) data and advanced cardiac analysis techniques.
In addition to standard 3T MRI services, users of our facility benefit from a Research Collaborative Agreement between CAMI and a major MRI manufacturer. We are also a test site for new MRI technology. This enables us to offer the latest in cutting-edge imaging techniques to our research partners.
This also provides us with access to the pulse sequence programming environment for sequence development and with access to pre-clinical advanced imaging features on the MRI scanner console. This is all backed-up by close collaborations with the imaging specialists.

Neuro coils
- SENSE Head coil
- Designed for very high resolution imaging of the cortex while maintaining excellent signal to noise in the centre of the brain
- EEG procedures are supported by the provision of a dedicated pathway for EEG leads
- SENSE Head Spine Coil
- Fast, total neuro imaging with excellent imagine quality
- SENSE Neurovascular coil
- Large coverage from top of the head to the aortic carch
- Applications: Neuro/brain: brainstem/pituitary, Circle of Willis (CoW), Internal acoustic canal, orbit, carotid arteries, arteries between the aortic arch and CoW, cervical spine, plexus brachialis, aortic arch
Musculoskeletal Coils
- SENSE T/R Knee coil
- Allows for high resolution knee imaging over an extended field
- SENSE Foot/Ankle coil
- Ski-boot shaped coil for optimum cover from ankle to the toes
- Optimised for small FOV ankle imaging as well as for large FOV foot imaging
- SENSE Wrist coil
- Closely encircles the wrist for high signal-to-noise ratio, required to acquire imagines using an 8 cm or larger field of view.
Prostate Coils
- SENSE XL Torso coil
- Closely contours the torso for high resolution imaging of large torso’s
- Optimised for imaging or the organs of the abdomen, pelvis and chest
- SENSE Torso/Cardiac coil
- Phased array, flexible coil dedicated to high resolution wit high accelerated factors
- End rectal Coils
- Dedicated for imaging the prostate and rectum.
- Offers high sensitivity and signal-to-noise for excellent 3T spectroscopy studies
